Retail & Sales Associate
Job Summary: The Retail Associate is responsible for maximizing the value of each customer’s shopping experience while protecting the assets of the store, providing excellent checkout assistance, and maintaining a neat, attractive, and safe retail area. All employees are responsible for understanding and embracing Good Life Super Thrift Store vision, mission, and values in the workplace, as well as upholding Good Life Super Thrift Store standards pertaining to our ‘clean, bright, and organized’ image. Job Duties & Responsibility’s:
  • Provide quality customer service at all times.
  • Adhere to all cash register processes and procedures.
  • Responsible for ringing up all sales accurately, tendering correct change, and reconciling cash drawer.
  • Maintain clean and orderly checkout areas and assure inventory of shopping bags and all other supplies needed for customer checkout.
  • Perform general stock maintenance and control by paying specific and detailed attention to keeping racks and display shelves organized and ensuring the retail floor is safe and appealing to customers.
  • Monitor dressing rooms by enforcing dressing room rules, assisting customers, inspecting dressing rooms after use to prevent vandalism and theft, and returning unwanted garments to sales floor.
  • Arrange merchandise on shelves and in the display cases. Includes re-stocking, picking up garments and hangers, returning unmarked garments to the appropriate processing station, and re-categorizing merchandise if necessary.
  • Maintain an awareness of all promotions and advertisements.
  • Maintain a safe environment, reporting all hazards or unsafe work practices, and performing effective floor control to keep aisles clear.
  • May be asked to assist with general janitorial clean-ups, both inside and outside of the store.

  • Working indoors on the retail floor and back room of store as needed
  • May work briefly outdoors on an infrequent basis, cleaning parking lot and front of store.

Route Driver
Job Summary: Drives company vehicles making pickups/deliveries on scheduled routes. Essential Job Functions:
  • Drives a variety of vehicles to various locations picking up and delivering donations for Good Life Super Thrift Store.
  • Checks fluids, air pressure, wiper blades and fuel levels in company vehicles and assists with general maintenance of delivery vehicle to keep it in good running order.
  • Delivery and pickup of product and donations for Good Life Super Thrift Store.
  • Time not spent performing pickup/delivery duties will be spent at the Thrift Store performing assigned tasks/duties.
  • Maintains a high level of communication with the Thrift Store Manager regarding the scheduling of pickups and deliveries.
  • Provides accurate information and friendly professional service to the public and to coworkers in a responsive, positive, courteous, truthful and tactful manner.  This also includes taking and making phone calls.
  • Must be committed to a high standard of safety and be willing and able to comply with all safety laws and all of the employer’s safety policies and rules and must be willing to report safety violations and potential safety violations to appropriate supervisory or management personnel.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to prioritize assigned work and work individually and with a team.
  • Ability to get along and work effectively with the public, management, fellow employees, volunteers and other agencies and groups.
  • Ability to safely navigate designated donation routes.
  • Have a valid Florida Driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Basic computer skills (e.g., to calendar appointments) if necessary.
Physical Requirements: Must stand, walk, lift, bend and stoop frequently to perform duties.  Have the ability to perform prolonged strenuous physical activity, including lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 50 pounds alone or up to 100 pounds with the help of fellow employees for short distances. Working Conditions:
  • Fast-paced and changing work load.
  • Must be available and willing to work weekends, holidays, overtime, and attend mandatory training and meetings as the employer determines are necessary or desirable to meet its business needs.
  • Ability to work in changing climates, heat, cold and rain.

Processing Room
Job Summary: Sorts through all donated merchandise and hangs clothing, bags items, prices individual items, keeps areas clean and organized. Essential Duties: Job functions include, but are not limited to:
  •  Checks retail floor daily to see what is needed on floor and directs those items as priority sorting and pricing and stocking
  • Monitors and/or prepares the daily productivity report.
  • Sorts through all donated items.
  • Processes merchandise from donation to display and eventual sale.
  • Determines quality of merchandise for floor, for “bulk” clothing sales and for trash.
  • Stocks merchandise on retail floor.
  • Keep areas neat, clean and organized.
  • Helps customers when needed.
  • May work in other processing areas as needed.
  • Performs other duties as requested.
Working Conditions:
  • Frequent lifting, standing, bending, kneeling, stooping, pushing and pulling.
  • Extended periods (entire shift) of standing and walking;
  • Requires good hand-eye coordination; requires arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp and perform repetitive motion tasks.
  • Exposure to donated merchandise.
  • Must be able to lift heavy items; 20-50lbs.
Level of Supervision: Works independently; receives guidance from Retail Processing Supervisor as to what type of merchandise is needed at a particular time. Applications currently being accepted in store only. No Phone Calls Please.  
Donations Clerk
Job Summary: Provides transportation and material movement of donated/salvaged goods, new goods and other items for processing and retail sales. Essential Job Functions:
  • Moves materials to and from donation storage, bailing areas and donor locations. Sorts and processes donations as needed.
  • Responsible for loading and unloading of truck assigned and others as requested.
  • Provides assistance to Thrift Store staff when delivering items to ensure the proper placement and location within the store.
  • Provides exemplary, respectful customer service to all outside contacts, volunteers and Good Life Super Thrift Store Staff.
  • Accepts or refuses donations according to Good Life Super Thrift Store Guidelines.
  • Performs bailing operations for salvaged goods, transfers bales from storage areas and loads onto tractor trailer.
  • Performs daily safety inspection of forklift and equipment. Maintains complete and accurate records. Maintains productivity, standards, safety and security.
  • Other Duties as assigned.
Minimum Job Requirement: Must be available and willing to work weekends, holidays, overtime, and attend mandatory training and meetings as the Thrift Store Manager determines are necessary or desirable to meet its business needs. Certificates, Licenses or Registrations:
  • Fork Lift Operator or Ability to Obtain Certification.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license and good driving record as defined by Good Life Super Thrift Store.
Physical Demands:
  • Able to lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis and more with assistance, and stand for 8 hours at a time.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy furniture or appliances.
  • Also be able to carry items that may be awkward in size or stature.
